White Rock Salt Crystals

Halite, more  commonly known as rock salt, is a type of salt, being the natural mineral form of sodium chloride (Na Cl). Halite forms isometric crystals. The mineral is typically colorless, white, or transparent and in certain regions can also be found in colors of pink, red, yellow, blue (light/dark), or gray; all depending on inclusion of other materials, impurities, and structural or isotopic abnormalities in the crystals. It commonly occurs with other evaporite deposit minerals such as several of the sulfateshalides, and borates. The name halite salt is derived from the ancient root Greek word for salt “als”
